BC Release log (most recent change is listed first) BC 2.1 Build 9 -- April 14, 2010 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some modifications have been made to the full program installer. Updated drivers for communicating to the analyzers have been included in the full installer. The installer for the communication drivers can be downloaded separately, here: http://www.rjlsystems.com/support/utilities/CDM20600.exe Some modifications have been made to the main program to make certain modifications easier, but which do not impact normal usage. BC 2.1 Build 8 -- March 18, 2010 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Records that fall outside of the "accepted" ranges for the input values (height, weight, age, resistance, reactance) can now be saved to the database. A warning box will be displayed in that case. As long as the calculated body composition information is not nonsensical (ie: no estimated values are negative) reports can be generated and printed. BC 2.1 Build 7 -- November 18, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minimum height and weight values have been updated to reflect the 3rd-percentile values for children age 4, as indicated by the growth charts published by the CDC at http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/clinical_charts.htm BC 2.1 Build 6 -- September 18, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new report layout has been added to BC -- the "Big Table" layout. This puts the person's current values next to the average ranges and shows whether the person is above, below, or within the average range for that value. -- Just like on the "Average Ranges" tab. A new equation set called "All Body Types" has been added. The equations for fat and FFM automatically adjust themselves to provide better performance for people regardless of whether they are obese, athletic, or somewhere in between. When downloading records from the Quantum-III, it is possible (but extremely unlikely) for electromagnetic noise to cause a record to be corrupted in a way that was undetectable by previous releases of BC. Extra checks have been added to the record download process to prevent that from happening. After successfully downloading the patient data from the Quantum-III, BC now asks for permission to remove the downloaded records from the Quantum-III. BC 2.1 Build 4 -- April 29, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The previous release inadvertantly included the 'B90' equation set, which was not supposed to be released to the general public. Because of the way the equation set was added to the list, it most likely caused the default equation set to be changed. If you applied the 2.1 build 3 update and suddenly realized that the calculated values were all different, this is why. To help you ensure that you are using the equation set you want to be using, the name of the equation set is always printed in the header section of the BC report. The "NHANES-III" equations are the factory default. This update removes the "B90" equations from BC. After applying this update, Please follow these instructions to verify which set of equations you are using: 1) Start the BC application. 2) Click on the "Algorithms" menu at the top of the window. 3) Select "Equations" from the drop-down menu. 4) Click on the desired equation set. (again, the factory default should be "NHANES-III") 5) Click the "OK" button. BC 2.1 Build 3 -- April 10, 2009 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a bugfix release. The following issues have been found and corrected: On the Diet & Exercise page, it was possible to get incorrect diet calorie recommendations if the exercise sliding bar was changed. A problem which could cause BC to not run if installed in a virtual machine using software such as VMWare, VirtualBox, or Parallels, has been fixed. BC 2.1 Build 2 -- November 17, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- BC can now generate a second report style. This new style of report allows the information to be presented in a more compact form on the printed report. Several of our customers have requested that the program report a value called "Lean Dry Mass" (LDM). By definition, LDM is what is left if you were to take a person's Fat-Free (Lean) Mass and remove all water from it. Or, to express it as a mathematical formula: "LDM = FFM - TBW" LDM is now being reported by BC. BC 2.0 Build 2 -- June 2, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The allowable height, weight, and age input ranges were not updated to correspond with the expanded ranges introduced by the "New Pediatric" equation set. BC 2.0 Build 1 -- April 25, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Average ranges from NHANES-III have been added to the program and the printed report. Several new equation sets have been added to the program: New Pediatric, Native American, Obese African American, Mexican Adults, HIV, and Athletic. BMR can now be calculated with Harris-Benedict as before, or prediction formulas using the estimated FFM value may be used instead. If Target Weight is calculated by the software instead of being manually entered, you now have two methods available for calculation. You may either use the Hamwi formulas as before, or you may calculate target weight based on a "target" BMI. BC 1.0 Build 6 -- December 14, 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- If printing a report from the Quantum-III, the port monitor will send status messages back to the instrument now. Records stored in the Quantum-III may now be downloaded into BC via the RF-Link instead of having to be directly connected via a serial cable. BC 1.0 Build 5 -- November 12, 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrected the "BIA-103" equations to use Harris-Benedict for BMR per the design of the Quantum-III. ICW & ECW sections were missing from the definitions in the printed report. BC 1.0 Build 4 -- October 18, 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The original behaviour of only hiding a test record when the user chooses to "delete" it was still in place. This has been changed such that, when the user confirms that a record is to be deleted, it is truly removed from the database. In addition, a customer requested that the last units selected for height and weight be preserved so they can be used as "defaults" and automatically selected when the program is launched or the current test record is cleared. BC 1.0 Build 3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- No actual changes to program functioning occurred with this build. BC 1.0 Build 2 -- October 16, 2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update fixes some incorrect and/or missing labels from the printed report when "Print in Black and White" is selected from the "Report Options" screen. Please note: this is not a complete installer. You must have BC installed on your computer before applying this update.
